John Thackeray

The Trade In Post was purchased by John Thackeray in 1982 and has been successfully trading for 35 years buying and selling quality secondhand goods in the pretty village of Shifnal in Shropshire.
With the advent of charity shops which have been springing up everywhere, with have had to diversify into key cutting and watch battery replacement which has been very successful.
When we first started trading, home computers like the Commodore 64, the Sinclair Spectrum, and other
home computers hit the market place and we got heavily involved buying and selling them and computer software and it was very successful. Then with the advent of home PC’s the market collapsed and the magazines that supported the home computers also folded.
I was left with a mountain of secondhand computer software and machines which I put into storage where it has been for 25 years or thereabouts.
I have been slowly dusting it off and going through this mountain testing and sorting it all out and listing on the net it seems to be selling quite well.
In this ever changing market place that we now find ourselves in we are now trading online ( and are giving the same good value as ever. However, in order to support our loyal (across the counter) customer base, we will be opening the shop to the public every Thursday and Friday from 8.00am to 5.00pm for shop sales, key cutting and watch battery replacement etc but open to online customers 24/7
